IES HELICHE WINS THE REGIONAL DEBATE TOURNAMENT IN ENGLISH
Having won the Provincial tournament in Seville, the team of four BTO students made up by Lola Delgado, Inma Palomo, Jose Andrés Algarrada and Victor Rojas, represented Seville in the Fourth Debate Tournament of Andalusia, which took place on April 10th and 20th in Granada. even if it was the fourth tournament, it was the first time ever that it was held in English and French, and these four students won all their debates and consequently won the tournament, showing a great deal of determination and excellent skills not only in English, but in their ability to present convincing arguments and exchange ideas with their opponents.
It was a great success that made all the school community proud.
HELICHVILLE 2023
On Tuesday May 16th, our ESO 3 students could travel to HELICHVILLE, an English speaking town we set up in our library, where they could practise their English-speaking skills, with native speakers and in authentic situations.
Once they were admitted through the customs office, they could go shopping for clothes, book a room at the local hotel or grab a bite at Peter's restaurant. It was a fun day for students, teachers and also for the language assistants who helped us out with the activity.
Here is a video showing some moments of the activity.
